From July 17 to 19, the 11th International Conference on operation and supply chain management (ICOSCM 2017) was held in Henan University. The conference was jointly organized by Business School of Henan University, Modern Logistics Research Institute of Henan University, ascom and CEIBS. Nearly 200 experts and scholars, government officials and business people from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, the Netherlands, Chile, New Zealand, Malaysia and China gathered together to conduct extensive and in-depth discussions on "entrepreneurial supply chain management oriented to resource efficiency and sustainable competition".
On the morning of the 17th, the opening ceremony of the conference was held in the lecture hall on the second floor of the business school. In his speech, Lou Yuangong extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the guests. He briefly reviewed the history of Henan University for more than 100 years. He introduced the work done by Henan University in recent years in integrating into national development strategy, responding to regional major needs, and serving social and economic development, focusing on the business school's support for Henan pilot free trade zone and Zhengzhou airport economy He hoped that the guests from all walks of life could have in-depth communication and mutual inspiration, and contribute to the research and practice of sustainable supply chain management.
On behalf of the Kaifeng Municipal Party committee and the municipal government, Hou Hong extended a sincere welcome to the experts attending the meeting. In her speech, she said that the thoughts and wisdom of the academic circles are an important force to promote the development of regional industries. She hoped that the scholars of Henan University would actively participate in the social and economic construction of Kaifeng, and that the ancient city and the old university would join hands to create a new chapter. At the same time, she also hoped that the experts and scholars attending the meeting could make suggestions and opinions for the construction of modern logistics industry in Kaifeng City according to the location conditions of the central region.
Zhao Xiande pointed out that the annual operation and supply chain management conference, with the strong assistance of Chinese and foreign universities and enterprises, has a growing influence. Its theoretical and practical achievements enjoy a high reputation in the international community. This conference is a collision between Chinese and Western cultures and academic ideas, and will greatly promote the development and progress of modern logistics management.
In the following special guest reports, Ramakrishnan Ramanathan, Song Hua, Han aijuan, Kasra ferdows, Zhao Xiande and mark A. Jacobs made excellent academic reports on the topics of big data and Internet of things for sustainable operation and supply chain management, the role of financial service institutions and banks in financing of small and medium-sized enterprises, informatization and integration of international logistics supply chain, evolution of enterprise production network, impact of supply chain learning on innovation, and cost Enlightenment of supply base.
The conference also arranged parallel meetings, special discussions, industry university dialogue, youth scholars forum, dialogue between editors of journals, etc. In the 19 parallel meetings, the topics covered supply chain integration and innovation, sustainable supply chain, supply chain finance, technology management in operation and supply chain management, uncertainty and risk management, and quality management in operation and supply chain. In two special industry academic interaction discussions, Lou Yuangong, Zheng Zhonghua, Zhao Xiande, Kim Hua Tan, Chee Wong, Zhang Guolong, Wen Jianjun and Han aijuan conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the construction of modern international logistics center and urban development, business model innovation and service design from the perspectives of learning, politics and business. In the sub venue of "supply chain finance", the participants also discussed with their counterparts in the United States, the Netherlands, Chile and other countries through the video conference system.
