On the morning of December 21, Professor Wei Hongguo, an undergraduate and postgraduate student from Beijing Normal University who is now teaching at the University of Central Oklahoma, was invited to the conference room of Business School to give A themed report entitled "A power-with versus power- over Framework of Leadership Behavior and Creativity :A meta-analytic Examination". Some teachers and graduate students from the business school attended the lecture. The lecture was hosted by Li Zhiqiang, associate dean of the School of Business.

At the beginning of the report, Wei Hongguo made a brief introduction to the meta-analysis. Meta-analysis helps us to understand the relationship of some variables, but due to its data-oriented nature, it also lacks theoretical basis. Later, Professor Wei introduced the basic concepts of power-over and power-with, and raised the question of how task-oriented and relationship-oriented leadership styles affect employees' creativity. By analyzing the research basis found in various literatures, she proposed the model of this study and deepened it step by step, thus reaching the conclusion that psychological empowerment is a very important variable. When employees have a sense of belonging, more value recognition and a strong drive, they can promote innovation. Too much emphasis on tasks can stifle creativity. With the in-depth study of the model, she proposed that employees with high power distance reflect obedience behavior and accept and respect the decisions of their superiors, while those with low power distance show the opposite. In the end, Wei Hongguo concluded that no matter power-over or power-with, it is necessary to have a systematic and comprehensive understanding and leave space for employees to create, so as to help them realize their value. At last, the interactive part was entered. The teachers and Wei Hongguo had a multi-angle and multi-level academic discussion, and the students also actively asked questions. The academic report ended in a harmonious atmosphere.

Through this academic report, the students of our school have a further understanding and perception of the influence of meta-analysis and leadership style on creativity, increase their own knowledge and broaden the academic horizon of our students. At the same time, this report also strengthens the foreign academic exchange of our school, and creates a good atmosphere for foreign exchange and academic study among teachers and students, which is of great significance to the construction of first-class business school.
