On the afternoon of September 11th, Professor Ram Ramanathan, who is from Bedford University of UK, gave a wonderful lecture to teachers and students in 201 Conference Room of Business School.
This seminar is one of a series of activities about Logistics and Supply Chain of Business School. The theme is ‘How to find new research topics and publish papers in journals’. This seminar was hosted by Vice Dean Li Zhiqiang.
Vice Dean Li welcomed the arrival of Professor Ram Ramanathan. Then, Li introduced Ram Ramanathan to teachers and students. Ram Ramanathan is a Professor of Operations Management in the UK and a PhD in Business and Management from the Indian Institute of Technology. He is doing research on Industry Management and Environment Management for a long time, and the main areas include e-learning, operation management, analysis of technology, sustainable development, data analysis, etc.
Professor Ram Ramanathan focused on the topic of lectures by ‘To Find the Problem’, ‘How to Do Academic Research’, ‘How to Publish Essays’, ‘To Find out Research Problems’, ‘To Ask Questions’ and ‘How to Write Papers’. These aspects of the discussion let college students to think about their essays. Later on, Li thanked Professor Ram Ramanathan for his excellent presentation. Yu Wantao, a YelIow River scholar at Lohhampton University also pointed out that this seminar would benefit students about their critical thinking and essay writing ability. Then, for the Q and A stage, students communicated with Professor Ram Ramanathan deeply and the atmosphere was kind and warm.
To sum up, this lecture benefits a lot on how to do academic research for teachers and students in Business School.
