Warmly welcome Dr. Wei Hongguo from University of Central Oklahoma to give lectures in our college

On the morning of December 21, Professor Wei Hongguo, a graduate student and currently teaching in the University of Central Oklahoma, was invited to carry out a theme report entitled "a power with versus power over framework of leadership behavior and creativity: a meta analytical examination" in the 201 conference room of business school. Some business school teachers and graduate students attended the lecture. The lecture was presided over by Li Zhiqiang, vice president of business school.

At the beginning of the report, Wei Hongguo briefly introduced the meta analysis. Meta analysis helps us to understand the relationship of some variables, but due to its data-oriented nature, it also lacks theoretical basis. Then, Professor Wei introduced the basic concepts of power over and power with, and then led to the question of how the two different leadership styles, task orientation and relationship orientation, affect employees' creativity. By analyzing the research basis found in various literature, she put forward the model of this study and deepened it step by step, so as to draw the conclusion that psychological empowerment is one of the most important variables. When employees get a sense of belonging, more value recognition and strong internal drive, they can promote employees to innovate, while overemphasizing tasks may stifle employees' creativity. With the further study of the model, she proposed that employees with high power distance embody obedience and accept and respect the decisions of their superiors, while employees with low power distance show the opposite. Finally, Wei Hongguo concludes that both power over and power with need to be understood systematically and comprehensively to leave room for employees to create space for them to realize their value. Finally, entering the interactive link, our teachers and Wei Hongguo had a multi angle and multi-level academic discussion, and the students also actively asked questions. This academic report ended in a harmonious atmosphere.

Through this academic report, our students have a further understanding and understanding of the impact of meta analysis and leadership style on creativity, increased their own knowledge and broadened the academic horizon of our students. At the same time, the report also strengthened the academic exchanges with foreign countries and created a good atmosphere for foreign exchange and academic learning among teachers and students, which is of great significance to the construction of first-class business schools.
